While audience feedback for Peacemaker the latest season has been mostly favorable, with fans and critics applauding the performances and storyline—despite the fact that the big twist in episode 7 wasn't exactly a shock—a particular criticism has intensified throughout the season: dwindling runtime lengths.

Over the past few episodes, viewers have voiced frustration over the noticeably shorter runtimes this season, and indeed, the installments have been progressively briefer. Episode 7, called “Like a Keith in the Night,” ran just 28 minutes (excluding the recap, opening credits, and closing credits), marking the briefest installment yet.

Fans will be pleased to learn the upcoming finale is nearly an hour in length.

Series creator and DC Universe head James Gunn wrote on Threads, responding to a disappointed fan.

Although this is encouraging, it's unknown exactly how much of the runtime will be brand-new content, uncluttered by intro and outro segments, or summaries of past episodes. That said, even if the episode contains all the previously mentioned non-essential content, that still leaves between 45 and 50 minutes for the finale, which is a big upgrade after episode 7.

The director earlier hinted that the last episode would not only wrap up Peacemaker but also give a hint towards the direction the greater DCU at large will be moving and act as a kind of precursor for the upcoming Man of Tomorrow film. Considering the cameo of Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor from the sixth installment, fans expect a juicy cameo to conclude the show.

Peacemaker's finale, episode 8, is titled "The Full Nelson," and we'll just have to wait to see if viewer theories are confirmed.
